  1. And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.

  20. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:
  21. The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him;
  22. The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
  23. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.
  24. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
  25. But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.
  26. The righteous will rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him!
  27. He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot— come, let us rejoice in him.
  28. proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
  29. The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.

  35. “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.
  36. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;
  37. Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.
  38. Finally, Daniel came into my presence and I told him the dream. (He is called Belteshazzar, after the name of my god, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.)
  39. There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners.
  40. At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
  41. The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him,
