  13. that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
  14. Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
  15. Giving to the Needy

    “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
  16. “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
  17. your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
  18. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  19. Treasures in Heaven

    “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
  20. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
  21. Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
  22. For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
  23. If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
