  1. When King Hezekiah’s officials came to Isaiah,
  2. Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid of what you have heard—those words with which the underlings of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

  9. This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”

  18. and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
  19. John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”
  20. This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
  21. For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere:
  22. Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about him.
  23. and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet.
  24. Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.
  25. They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement: “The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your ancestors when he said through Isaiah the prophet:
