⁷I saw among the simple ones.
I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding,

Proverbs 7:7

New Living Translation

⁷I saw some naive young men,
and one in particular who lacked common sense.

²¹Folly is joy to one who is void of wisdom,
but a man of understanding keeps his way straight.

²¹Foolishness brings joy to those with no sense;
a sensible person stays on the right path.

¹⁸A man void of understanding strikes hands,
and becomes collateral in the presence of his neighbor.

¹⁸It’s poor judgment to guarantee another person’s debt
or put up security for a friend.
