²⁴ There is one who scatters, and increases yet more.
    There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
²⁵ The liberal soul shall be made fat.
    He who waters shall be watered also himself.
²⁶ People curse someone who withholds grain,
    but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.

²² A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,
    but the wealth of the sinner is stored for the righteous.

²¹ He who despises his neighbor sins,
    but he who has pity on the poor is blessed.

¹⁶ A man’s gift makes room for him,
    and brings him before great men.

¹⁷ He who has pity on the poor lends to Yahweh;
    he will reward him.

¹³ Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor,
    he will also cry out, but shall not be heard.

⁹ He who has a generous eye will be blessed;
    for he shares his food with the poor.

¹⁴ As clouds and wind without rain,
    so is he who boasts of gifts deceptively.

²⁷ One who gives to the poor has no lack;
    but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.
