¹⁸ A wicked person earns deceptive wages,
But one who ^(C)sows righteousness gets a true reward.

²⁸ One who ^(A)trusts in his riches will fall,
But ^(B)the righteous will flourish like the green leaf.

¹¹ Wealth obtained from ^[a]nothing dwindles,
But one who gathers ^[b]by labor increases it.

^16 (A)Better is a little with ^[a]the fear of the Lord
Than great treasure, and turmoil with ^[b]the treasure.

²⁷ He who ^(A)profits illicitly troubles his own house,
But he who ^(B)hates bribes will live.

⁸ A ^(A)bribe is a ^[a]charm in the sight of its owner;
Wherever he turns, he prospers.

^17 (A)Bread obtained by a lie is sweet to a person,
But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.

²¹ An inheritance gained in a hurry at the beginning
Will not be blessed in the end.
