Mark 13:9-13 Wycliffe Bible (WYC)

But see ye yourselves, for they shall take you in councils, and ye shall be beaten in synagogues; and ye shall stand before kings and doomsmen for me, in witnessing to them.

10 And it behooveth, that the gospel be first preached among all folk.

11 And when they [shall] take you, and lead you forth, do not ye before think what ye shall speak, but speak ye that thing that shall be given to you in that hour; for ye be not the speakers [soothly ye be not speaking], but the Holy Ghost.

12 For the brother shall betake the brother into death [Forsooth the brother shall betray the brother into death], and the father the son, and sons shall rise together against fathers and mothers, and [shall] punish them by death.

13 And ye shall be in hate to all men for my name; but he that lasteth into the end, shall be safe.[a]

Footnotes:

  1. Mark 13:13 And ye shall be in hatred to all men for my name; but he that shall sustain into the end, this shall be safe.

Mark 13:9-13 New Matthew Bible (NMB)

But take heed to yourselves. For they will bring you up before the councils and into the synagogues, and you will be beaten; yea, and will be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached among all nations. 11 But when they lead you and present you, do not be anxious about what you will say, nor prepare ahead. But whatever is given you at that same time, that speak. For it will not be you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.

12 Yea and brother will deliver brother to death, and the father the son; and the children will rise against their fathers and mothers, and will put them to death. 13 And you will be hated by all men for my name’s sake. But whosoever endures to the end, the same shall be saved.

Mark 13:9-13 1599 Geneva Bible (GNV)

But take ye heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to the Councils, and to the Synagogues: ye shall be beaten, and brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a [a]testimonial unto them.

10 And the Gospel must first be published among all nations.

11 But when they lead you, and deliver you up, [b]be not careful before hand, [c]neither study what ye shall say: but what is given you at the same time, that speak: for it is not you that speak, but the holy Ghost.

12 Yea, and the brother shall deliver the brother to death, and the father the son, and the children shall rise against their parents, and shall cause them to die.

13 And ye shall be hated of all men [d]for my Name’s sake: but whosoever shall endure unto the end, he shall be saved.

Footnotes:

  1. Mark 13:9 The hearing of you preaching shall be a most evident witness against them, so that they shall not be able to pretend ignorance.
  2. Mark 13:11 We are not forbidden to think beforehand, but pensive carefulness whereby men discourage themselves, which proceedeth from distrust, and want of confidence and sure hope of God’s assistance: that carefulness we are willed to beware of, see also Matt. 6:27.
  3. Mark 13:11 By any kind of artificial and cunning kind of tale what to speak.
  4. Mark 13:13 For me.

Mark 13:9-13 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. 10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations. 11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost. 12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. 13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
