Jeremiah 17:9-11
New King James Version
9 “The (A)heart is deceitful above all things,
And [a]desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
10 I, the Lord, (B)search the heart,
I test the [b]mind,
(C)Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.
11 “As a partridge that [c]broods but does not hatch,
So is he who gets riches, but not by right;
It (D)will leave him in the midst of his days,
And at his end he will be (E)a fool.”

Jeremiah 17:9-11
American Standard Version
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it? 10 I, Jehovah, search the mind, I try the [a]heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings. 11 As the partridge [b]that sitteth on eggs which she hath not laid, so is he that getteth riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days [c]they shall leave him, and at his end he shall be a fool.
