New American Standard Bible
7 Behold, their brave men cry out [a]in the streets,
The [b](A)ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.
8 The highways are desolate, [c]the (B)traveler has ceased,
He has (C)broken the covenant, he has despised the cities,
He has no regard for mankind.
9 (D)The land mourns and wastes away,
(E)Lebanon is shamed and withers;
(F)Sharon is like a desert plain,

American Standard Version
7 Behold, their valiant ones cry without; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly. 8 The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: [a]the enemy hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth not man. 9 The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is confounded and withereth away; Sharon is like [b]a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.
