2 (A)The sons of Japheth were (B)Gomer, Magog, (C)Madai, (D)Javan, Tubal, (E)Meshech, and Tiras. 3 The sons of Gomer were (F)Ashkenaz, [a]Riphath, and (G)Togarmah. 4 The sons of Javan were Elishah, (H)Tarshish, Kittim, and [b]Dodanim. 5 From these the people of the coastlands of the nations [c]were separated into their lands, every one according to his language, according to their families, into their nations.

Descendants of Japheth

2 The descendants of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

3 The descendants of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

4 The descendants of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim.[a] 5 Their descendants became the seafaring peoples that spread out to various lands, each identified by its own language, clan, and national identity.
