Then I say that the heir (as long as he is a child) differs nothing from a servant - though he be Lord of all -

but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the Father.

Even so, we (when we were children) were in bondage under the basic principles of the world.

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman and made under the Law;

so that He might redeem those who were under the Law (that we might receive adoption as sons).

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, who cries, “Abba, Father!”

Therefore, you are a servant no more, but a son. Now, if you are a son, you are also the heir of God, through Christ.
