8 “‘But I will spare some, for some of you will escape(A) the sword when you are scattered among the lands and nations.(B) 9 Then in the nations where they have been carried captive, those who escape will remember(C) me—how I have been grieved(D) by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols.(E) They will loathe themselves for the evil(F) they have done and for all their detestable practices.(G) 10 And they will know that I am the Lord;(H) I did not threaten in vain to bring this calamity on them.(I)

Some of you shall escape the sword among the nations and be scattered through the countries.(A) 9 Your survivors shall remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I was crushed by their wanton heart that turned away from me and their wanton eyes that turned after their idols. Then they will be loathsome in their own sight for the evils that they have committed, for all their abominations.(B) 10 And they shall know that I am the Lord; I did not threaten in vain to bring this disaster upon them.
