24 Some men's sins be open, before going to doom; but of some men they come after. [Some men's sins be open, going before to doom; forsooth of some men and they follow.]

25 And also good deeds be open, and those that have them in other manner be not able to be hid. [Also and good deeds be open, and they that have them otherwise, may not be hid.]

1 Timothy 5:24-25 New Matthew Bible (NMB)

24 Some people’s sins are open beforehand, and go before to judgment; some people’s sins follow after. 25 Likewise also, good works are manifest beforehand, and those that are otherwise cannot be hid.

  1. 1 Timothy 5:24 Because hypocrites sometimes creep into the ministry although there be never so great diligence used, the Apostle willeth the Pastors not to be troubled therefore, or slack any whit of their diligence in trying and examining, because the Lord hath appointed a time to discover the faults of such men, and it is our parts to take heed that we offend not therein.
  2. 1 Timothy 5:25 Another comfort belonging to them, which sometimes are slandered and misreported of.
