²³ When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported everything that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.

¹⁴ Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was granted to you through words of ^(A)prophecy with ^(B)the laying on of hands by the ^[a](C)council of elders.

³ To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep listen to ^(A)his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and ^(B)leads them out.

⁴ When he puts all his own sheep outside, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know ^(A)his voice.

²⁸ Be on guard for yourselves and for all ^(A)the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you ^[a]overseers, to shepherd ^(B)the church of God which ^(C)He ^[b]purchased ^[c]with His own blood.

⁷ if ^[a](A)service, in the act of serving; or the one who ^(B)teaches, in the act of teaching;

⁸ or the one who ^[a](A)exhorts, in the work of ^[b]exhortation; the one who gives, with ^[c](B)generosity; ^(C)the one who ^[d]is in leadership, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with ^(D)cheerfulness.

⁷ Remember ^(A)those who led you, who spoke ^(B)the word of God to you; and considering the ^[a]result of their way of life, ^(C)imitate their faith.
