²⁴ So Moses went out and told the people the words of the Lord, and he ^(A)gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people and placed them around the tabernacle. ²⁵ Then the Lord came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, ^(B)when the Spirit rested upon them, that ^(C)they prophesied, ^[a]although they never did so again.

²⁶ But two men had remained in the camp: the name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad. And the Spirit rested upon them. Now they were among those listed, but who ^(D)had not gone out to the tabernacle; yet they prophesied in the camp. ²⁷ And a young man ran and told Moses, and said, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”

²⁸ So Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, one of his choice men, answered and said, “Moses my lord, ^(E)forbid them!”

²⁹ Then Moses said to him, “Are you ^[b]zealous for my sake? ^(F)Oh, that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!” ³⁰ And Moses returned to the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

The Promise of the Holy Spirit

^37 (A)On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ^(B)“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. ^38 (C)He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, ^(D)out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” ^39 (E)But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those ^[a]believing in Him would receive; for the ^[b]Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet ^(F)glorified.

³ Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus ^[a]accursed, and ^(A)no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

^4 (B)There are ^[b]diversities of gifts, but ^(C)the same Spirit. ^5 (D)There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God ^(E)who works ^[c]all in all. ⁷ But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: ⁸ for to one is given ^(F)the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another ^(G)the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, ^9 (H)to another faith by the same Spirit, to another ^(I)gifts of healings by ^[d]the same Spirit, ^10 (J)to another the working of miracles, to another ^(K)prophecy, to another ^(L)discerning of spirits, to another ^(M)different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But one and the same Spirit works all these things, ^(N)distributing to each one individually ^(O)as He wills.

Unity and Diversity in One Body^(P)

¹² For ^(Q)as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, ^(R)so also is Christ. ¹³ For ^(S)by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—^(T)whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and ^(U)have all been made to drink ^[e]into one Spirit.
