(A)Do not be conformed to this world,[a] but be transformed by (B)the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may (C)discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.[b]

The Temple of the Living God

14 (A)Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For (B)what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or (C)what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 (D)What accord has Christ with Belial?[a] Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For (E)we are the temple of the living God; as God said,

(F)“I will make my dwelling among them and (G)walk among them,
    and (H)I will be their God,
    and they shall be my people.
17 Therefore (I)go out from their midst,
    and be separate from them, says the Lord,
and touch no unclean thing;
    then I will welcome you,
18 (J)and I will be a father to you,
    and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
says the Lord Almighty.”

Do Not Love the World

15 (A)Do not love the world or the things in the world. (B)If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—(C)the desires of the flesh and (D)the desires of the eyes and pride of life[a]—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And (E)the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

  1. 1 John 2:16 Or pride in possessions

Then I heard another voice from heaven saying,

(A)“Come out of her, my people,
    lest you take part in her sins,
lest you share in her plagues;
for (B)her sins are heaped high as heaven,
    and (C)God has remembered her iniquities.

14 As obedient children, (A)do not be conformed to the passions (B)of your former ignorance, 15 but (C)as he who called you is holy, you also be holy (D)in all your conduct, 16 since it is written, (E)“You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 17 And if you (F)call on him as Father who (G)judges (H)impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves (I)with fear throughout the time of your exile, 18 knowing that you (J)were ransomed from (K)the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but (L)with the precious blood of Christ, like that of (M)a lamb (N)without blemish or spot.

(A)Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that (B)a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us therefore celebrate the festival, (C)not with the old leaven, (D)the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
