20 Like a (A)dream when one awakes,
Lord, when (B)stirred, You will (C)despise their image.

21 When my (D)heart was embittered
And I was (E)pierced [a]within,
22 Then I was (F)stupid and ignorant;
I was like an (G)animal [b]before You.
23 Nevertheless (H)I am continually with You;
You have taken hold of my right hand.
24 You will (I)guide me with Your plan,
And afterward (J)receive me [c]to glory.

25 (K)Whom do I have in heaven but You?
And with You, I desire nothing on earth.
26 My (L)flesh and my heart may fail,
But God is the [d]strength of my heart and my (M)portion forever.
27 For, behold, (N)those who are far from You will (O)perish;
You have destroyed all those who [e](P)are unfaithful to You.
28 But as for me, (Q)the nearness of God is good for me;
I have made the Lord [f]God my (R)refuge,
So that I may (S)tell of all Your works.
