Surely the islands(A) look to me;
    in the lead are the ships of Tarshish,[a](B)
bringing(C) your children from afar,
    with their silver and gold,(D)
to the honor(E) of the Lord your God,
    the Holy One(F) of Israel,
    for he has endowed you with splendor.(G)

10 “Foreigners(H) will rebuild your walls,
    and their kings(I) will serve you.
Though in anger I struck you,
    in favor(J) I will show you compassion.(K)
11 Your gates(L) will always stand open,
    they will never be shut, day or night,
so that people may bring you the wealth of the nations(M)
    their kings(N) led in triumphal procession.
12 For the nation or kingdom that will not serve(O) you will perish;
    it will be utterly ruined.(P)

13 “The glory of Lebanon(Q) will come to you,
    the juniper, the fir and the cypress together,(R)
to adorn my sanctuary;(S)
    and I will glorify the place for my feet.(T)
14 The children of your oppressors(U) will come bowing before you;
    all who despise you will bow down(V) at your feet
and will call you the City(W) of the Lord,
    Zion(X) of the Holy One(Y) of Israel.
