Ephesians 2:7-10

⁷so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable ^(A)riches of his grace in ^(B)kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸For ^(C)by grace you have been saved ^(D)through faith. And this is ^(E)not your own doing; ^(F)it is the gift of God, ⁹^(G)not a result of works, ^(H)so that no one may boast. ¹⁰For ^(I)we are his workmanship, ^(J)created in Christ Jesus ^(K)for good works, ^(L)which God prepared beforehand, ^(M)that we should walk in them.

⁷So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.

⁸God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. ⁹Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. ¹⁰For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

⁷[and He did this] so that in the ages to come He might [clearly] show the immeasurable and unsurpassed riches of His grace in [His] kindness toward us in Christ Jesus [by providing for our redemption]. ⁸For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; ⁹not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. ¹⁰For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].^(A)
