Curses From Mount Ebal

⁹ Then Moses and the Levitical^(A) priests said to all Israel, “Be silent, Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the Lord your God.^{(B) 10} Obey the Lord your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.”

¹³ Be still^(A) before the Lord, all mankind, because he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.^(B)”

³³ In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an impure spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice, ³⁴ “Go away! What do you want with us,^(A) Jesus of Nazareth?^(B) Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are^(C)—the Holy One of God!”^(D)

³⁵ “Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly.^(E) “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.

²⁰ But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God?^(A) “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it,^(B) ‘Why did you make me like this?’”^[a](C)
