⁶ And if one asks him, ‘What are these wounds on your back?’^[a] he will say, ‘The wounds I received in the house of my friends.’

³⁵ Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you over to me. What have you done?”

¹¹ And ^(A)the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and ^(B)they have no rest, day or night, these ^(C)worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.”

¹⁴ Now it was ^(A)the day of Preparation of the Passover. It was about the sixth hour.^[a] He said to the Jews, ^(B)“Behold your King!” ¹⁵ They cried out, ^(C)“Away with him, away with him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.” ^16 (D)So he ^(E)delivered him over to them to be crucified.

The Crucifixion

So they took Jesus,

²⁸ And they cried aloud and ^(A)cut themselves after their custom with swords and lances, until the blood gushed out upon them.

¹⁶ Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave,^{[a] (A)}to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, ¹⁷ so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, ^(B)the name of the beast or ^(C)the number of its name.
