^15 (A)To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and ^(B)unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both ^(C)their minds and their consciences are defiled.

¹⁴ I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus ^(A)that nothing is unclean in itself, ^(B)but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean.

^20 (A)Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. ^(B)Everything is indeed clean, but ^(C)it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats.

Do All to the Glory of God

^23 (A)“All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up.

^3 (A)who forbid marriage and ^(B)require abstinence from foods ^(C)that God created ^(D)to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ⁴ For ^(E)everything created by God is good, and ^(F)nothing is to be rejected if it is ^(G)received with thanksgiving,

³¹ So, whether you eat or drink, or ^(A)whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

¹⁸ But ^(A)what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person.

²³ But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.^[a]

¹⁵ And the voice came to him again a second time, ^(A)“What God has made clean, do not call common.”

Flee Sexual Immorality

^12 (A)“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. ^13 (B)“Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food”—and God will destroy both one ^(C)and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but ^(D)for the Lord, and ^(E)the Lord for the body.
