4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward mankind appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of rebirth and the renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, being justified by His grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you constantly to affirm, so that those who have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to everyone.
9 But avoid foolish debates, genealogies, contentions, and arguments about the law, for they are unprofitable and useless. 10 Reject a divisive man after a first and second admonition, 11 knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned.
Personal Instructions and Greetings
12 When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, be diligent to come to me in Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. 13 Diligently send Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey. See that they lack nothing. 14 And let our people also learn to continue doing good works to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unproductive.
15 All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith.

4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. 9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. 10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; 11 knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.
12 When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis: for I have determined there to winter. 13 Bring Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey diligently, that nothing be wanting unto them. 14 And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
15 All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith.

It was written to Titus, ordained the first bishop of the church of the Cretians, from Nicopolis of Macedonia.

9 But (H)avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. 10 (I)Reject a divisive man after the first and second [a]admonition, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.

12 When I send Artemas to you, or (J)Tychicus, be diligent to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. 13 Send Zenas the lawyer and (K)Apollos on their journey with haste, that they may lack nothing. 14 And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful.

4 Pero cuando se manifestó la bondad de Dios nuestro Salvador, y su amor para con los hombres, 5 nos salvó, no por obras de justicia que nosotros hubiéramos hecho, sino por su misericordia, por el lavamiento de la regeneración y por la renovación en el Espíritu Santo, 6 el cual derramó en nosotros abundantemente por Jesucristo nuestro Salvador, 7 para que justificados por su gracia, viniésemos a ser herederos conforme a la esperanza de la vida eterna.
8 Palabra fiel es esta, y en estas cosas quiero que insistas con firmeza, para que los que creen en Dios procuren ocuparse en buenas obras. Estas cosas son buenas y útiles a los hombres. 9 Pero evita las cuestiones necias, y genealogías, y contenciones, y discusiones acerca de la ley; porque son vanas y sin provecho. 10 Al hombre que cause divisiones, después de una y otra amonestación deséchalo, 11 sabiendo que el tal se ha pervertido, y peca y está condenado por su propio juicio.

4 But when the kindness(A) and love of God our Savior(B) appeared,(C) 5 he saved us,(D) not because of righteous things we had done,(E) but because of his mercy.(F) He saved us through the washing(G) of rebirth and renewal(H) by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us(I) generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace,(J) we might become heirs(K) having the hope(L) of eternal life.(M) 8 This is a trustworthy saying.(N) And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good.(O) These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
9 But avoid(P) foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels(Q) about the law,(R) because these are unprofitable and useless.(S) 10 Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them.(T) 11 You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.

12 As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus(U) to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there.(V) 13 Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos(W) on their way and see that they have everything they need. 14 Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good,(X) in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives.
