18 When you ascended(A) on high,(B)
    you took many captives;(C)
    you received gifts from people,(D)
even from[a] the rebellious(E)—
    that you,[b] Lord God, might dwell there.

19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,(F)
    who daily bears our burdens.(G)
20 Our God is a God who saves;(H)
    from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.(I)

18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them.

19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

20 He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death.
