²⁸ And we know that for those who love God all things work together ^(A)for good,^[a] for ^(B)those who are called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For those whom he ^(C)foreknew he also ^(D)predestined ^(E)to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be ^(F)the firstborn among many brothers.

⁴ Therefore ^(A)we ourselves boast about you ^(B)in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith ^(C)in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring.

The Judgment at Christ's Coming

⁵ This is ^(D)evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be ^(E)considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering—

^12 (A)Rejoice in hope, ^(B)be patient in tribulation, ^(C)be constant in prayer.
