The Righteousness of God Through Faith

21 But now (A)the righteousness of God (B)has been manifested apart from the law, although (C)the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God (D)through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. (E)For there is no distinction: 23 for (F)all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 (G)and are justified (H)by his grace as a gift, (I)through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God (J)put forward as (K)a propitiation (L)by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in (M)his divine forbearance he had passed over (N)former sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

10 For (A)we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, (B)so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

11 Therefore, knowing (C)the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But (D)what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience. 12 (E)We are not commending ourselves to you again but (F)giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart. 13 For if we (G)are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For the love of Christ (H)controls us, because we have concluded this: that (I)one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, (J)that those who live might no longer live for themselves but (K)for him who for their sake died and was raised.

16 From now on, therefore, (L)we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is (M)in Christ, he is (N)a new creation.[a] (O)The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 18 All this is from God, (P)who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us (Q)the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that is, in Christ God was reconciling[b] the world to himself, (R)not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us (S)the message of reconciliation. 20 Therefore, (T)we are ambassadors for Christ, (U)God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 (V)For our sake he made him to be sin (W)who knew no sin, so that in him we might become (X)the righteousness of God.
