⁶ For we know that our old self^[a](A) was crucified with Him^(B) in order that sin’s dominion over the body^[b] may be abolished,^(C) so that we may no longer be enslaved to sin,

⁶ But now we have been released from the law, since we have died to what held us, so that we may serve in the new way^[a] of the Spirit^(A) and not in the old letter of the law.

⁷ Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch. You are indeed unleavened, for Christ our Passover^(A) has been sacrificed.^{[a] 8} Therefore, let us observe the feast, not with old yeast or with the yeast of malice and evil^(B) but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

¹⁴ but their minds were closed.^[a](A) For to this day, at the reading of the old covenant,^(B) the same veil remains; it is not lifted, because it is set aside only in Christ.^(C)

⁹ Do not lie^(A) to one another, since you have put off^(B) the old self^[a](C) with its practices
