11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.(A)

12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies, so that you obey their desires.(B) 13 No longer present your members to sin as instruments[a] of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and present your members to God as instruments[b] of righteousness.(C) 14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.(D)

Slaves of Righteousness

15 What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! 16 Do you not know that, if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?(E) 17 But thanks be to God that you who were slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which you were entrusted(F) 18 and that you, having been set free from sin, have become enslaved to righteousness.(G)

Slaves to Righteousness

15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace?(H) By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey(I)—whether you are slaves to sin,(J) which leads to death,(K) or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God(L) that, though you used to be slaves to sin,(M) you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching(N) that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin(O) and have become slaves to righteousness.(P)
