14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned (A)in the likeness of the [a]violation committed by Adam, who is a [b](B)type of Him who was to come.

15 But [c]the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of (C)the one (D)the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by (E)the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. 16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand (F)the judgment arose from one offense, [d]resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the gracious gift arose from many offenses, [e]resulting in justification. 17 For if by the offense of the one, death reigned (G)through the one, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness (H)reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

18 So then, as through (I)one offense [f]the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one (J)act of righteousness [g]the result was (K)justification of life to all mankind.

14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam,(A) who is a pattern of the one to come.(B)

15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man,(C) how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ,(D) overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death(E) reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life(F) through the one man, Jesus Christ!

18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people,(G) so also one righteous act resulted in justification(H) and life(I) for all people.
