³^(A)What if some were unfaithful? ^(B)Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? ⁴By no means! ^(C)Let God be true though ^(D)every one were a liar, as it is written,

^(E)“That you may be justified in your words,
and prevail when you ^(F)are judged.”

³True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful? ⁴Of course not! Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him,

“You will be proved right in what you say,
and you will win your case in court.”^[a]

⁴By no means! Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified and shown to be upright in what You say, and prevail when You are judged [by sinful men].^(A)
