³¹ but Israel, ^(A)pursuing the law of righteousness, ^(B)has not attained to the law ^[a]of righteousness.

⁷ What then? ^(A)Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were ^(B)blinded.

¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet ^(A)stumble in one point, ^(B)he is guilty of all. ¹¹ For He who said, ^(C)“Do not commit adultery,” also said, ^(D)“Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

⁶ concerning zeal, ^(A)persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

³ And I testify again to every man who becomes circumcised ^(A)that he is ^[a]a debtor to keep the whole law. ^4 (B)You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; ^(C)you have fallen from grace.

²¹ Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

The Law Brings a Curse

¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, ^(A)“Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” ¹¹ But that no one is ^[a]justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for ^(B)“the just shall live by faith.”

² For I bear them witness ^(A)that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. ³ For they being ignorant of ^(B)God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own ^(C)righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. ⁴ For ^(D)Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

¹⁴ For ^(A)if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, ¹⁵ because ^(B)the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.
