⁴ So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law^(A) through the body of Christ,^(B) that you might belong to another,^(C) to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God.

²⁴ “He himself bore our sins”^(A) in his body on the cross,^(B) so that we might die to sins^(C) and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”^(D)

²² But the fruit^(A) of the Spirit is love,^(B) joy, peace,^(C) forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness and self-control.^(D) Against such things there is no law.^(E)

² because through Christ Jesus^(A) the law of the Spirit who gives life^(B) has set you^[a] free^(C) from the law of sin^(D) and death.

⁶ But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law^(A) so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.^(B)

²³ For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church,^(A) his body, of which he is the Savior. ²⁴ Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands^(B) in everything.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives,^(C) just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her^{(D) 26} to make her holy,^(E) cleansing^[a] her by the washing^(F) with water through the word, ²⁷ and to present her to himself^(G) as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.^(H)

¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit,^(A) you are not under the law.^(B)

¹⁵ by setting aside in his flesh^(A) the law with its commands and regulations.^(B) His purpose was to create in himself one^(C) new humanity out of the two, thus making peace,
