²⁵ whom God ^(A)put forward as ^(B)a propitiation ^(C)by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in ^(D)his divine forbearance he had passed over ^(E)former sins.

¹⁸ knowing that you ^(A)were ransomed from ^(B)the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, ¹⁹ but ^(C)with the precious blood of Christ, like that of ^(D)a lamb ^(E)without blemish or spot. ²⁰ He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but ^(F)was made manifest ^(G)in the last times for the sake of you

²³ for ^(A)all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ^24 (B)and are justified ^(C)by his grace as a gift, ^(D)through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

¹⁰ In this is love, ^(A)not that we have loved God ^(B)but that he loved us and sent his Son to be ^(C)the propitiation for our sins.

^2 (A)He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but ^(B)also for the sins of the whole world.

¹⁴ how much more will ^(A)the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit ^(B)offered himself without blemish to God, ^(C)purify our^[a] conscience ^(D)from dead works ^(E)to serve the living God.

¹⁵ Therefore he is ^(F)the mediator of a new covenant, so that ^(G)those who are called may ^(H)receive the promised eternal inheritance, ^(I)since a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.^{[b] 16} For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. ¹⁷ For ^(J)a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive. ¹⁸ Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated ^(K)without blood. ¹⁹ For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took ^(L)the blood of calves and goats, ^(M)with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, ²⁰ saying, ^(N)“This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.” ²¹ And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both ^(O)the tent and all the vessels used in worship. ²² Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and ^(P)without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

^30 (A)The times of ignorance ^(B)God overlooked, but ^(C)now he ^(D)commands all people everywhere to repent,

⁹ Since, therefore, ^(A)we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from ^(B)the wrath of God.

⁴ For ^(A)it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
