²² the righteousness of God through the faith of Jesus Christ^[a] for all who believe.^[b] For there is no distinction,^(A)

¹² For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and is generous to all who call on him.^(A)

²⁸ There is no longer Jew or Greek; there is no longer slave or free; there is no longer male and female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.^(A)

Life in the Spirit

8 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.^(A)

¹⁶ yet we know that a person is justified^[a] not by the works of the law but through the faith of Jesus Christ.^[b] And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by the faith of Christ^[c] and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law.^(A)

¹¹ In that renewal^[a] there is no longer Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, enslaved and free, but Christ is all and in all!^(A)

Results of Justification

5 Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we^[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,^{(A) 2} through whom we have obtained access^[b] to this grace in which we stand, and we^[c] boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God.^{(B) 3} And not only that, but we^[d] also boast in our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance,^{(C) 4} and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, ⁵ and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.^(D)

⁶ For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.^{(E) 7} Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. ⁸ But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.^{(F) 9} Much more surely, therefore, since we have now been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath of God.^{[e](G) 10} For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life.^{(H) 11} But more than that, we even boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

⁶ Just as Abraham “believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,”^{(A) 7} so, you see, those who believe are the descendants of Abraham. ⁸ And the scripture, foreseeing that God would reckon as righteous the gentiles by faith, declared the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “All the gentiles shall be blessed in you.”^{(B) 9} For this reason, those who believe are blessed with Abraham who believed.

⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law but one that comes through faith in Christ,^[a] the righteousness from God based on faith.^(A)
