² Much, in every way. For in the first place, the Jews^[a] were entrusted with the oracles of God.^(A)

³⁸ He is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness with the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai and with our ancestors, and he received living oracles to give to us.^(A)

¹² For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic elements of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food,^(A)

¹⁷ For if I do this of my own will, I have a wage, but if not of my own will, I am entrusted with a commission.^(A)

⁴ They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises;^(A)

¹¹ Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.^(A)

¹³ You came down also upon Mount Sinai and spoke with them from heaven and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,^{(A) 14} and you made known your holy Sabbath to them and gave them commandments and statutes and a law through Moses your servant.^(B)

⁷ For what other great nation has a god so near to it as the Lord our God is whenever we call to him?^{(A) 8} And what other great nation has statutes and ordinances as just as this entire law that I am setting before you today?

¹⁵ and how from childhood you have known sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All scripture is inspired by God and is^[a] useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,^{(A) 17} so that the person of God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.^(B)
