²³ But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.^[a]

⁶ And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God ^(A)must believe that he exists and ^(B)that he rewards those who seek him.

^15 (A)To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and ^(B)unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both ^(C)their minds and their consciences are defiled.

²⁹ For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. ³⁰ That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some ^(A)have died.^{[a] 31 (B)}But if we judged^[b] ourselves truly, we would not be judged.

⁷ However, not all possess this knowledge. But some, ^(A)through former association with idols, eat food as really offered to an idol, and ^(B)their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

^5 (A)One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. ^(B)Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

² Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.
