Love Fulfills the Law

⁸ Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.^(A)

¹⁰ Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.^(A)

³⁹ And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’^{[a](A) 40} All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”^(B)

¹⁴ For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”^[a](A)

¹² So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you,^(A) for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.^(B)

⁷ Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes;^(A) if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

⁸ If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself,”^[a](A) you are doing right.

¹⁴ And over all these virtues put on love,^(A) which binds them all together in perfect unity.^(B)

³⁴ “A new command^(A) I give you: Love one another.^(B) As I have loved you, so you must love one another.^(C)
