⁵ so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another.

²⁰ As it is, there are many members yet one body.

¹⁷ Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.^(A)

Rules for the New Life

²⁵ So then, putting away falsehood, let each of you speak the truth with your neighbor, for we are members of one another.^(A)

¹⁹ and not holding fast to the head, from whom the whole body, nourished and held together by its ligaments and tendons, grows with a growth that is from God.^(A)

²³ which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.^(A)

²⁷ Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.^{(A) 28} And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then deeds of power, then gifts of healing, forms of assistance, forms of leadership, various kinds of tongues.^(B)

One Body with Many Members

¹² For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.^{(A) 13} For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.^(B)

¹⁴ Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many.

³³ just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage but that of many, so that they may be saved.^(A)

⁴ For as in one body we have many members and not all the members have the same function,^(A)
