^12 (A)rejoicing in hope, ^(B)patient^[a] in tribulation, ^(C)continuing steadfastly in prayer;

¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all ^(A)joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

^36 (A)For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, ^(B)you may receive the promise:

^2 (A)through whom also we have access by faith into this grace ^(B)in which we stand, and ^(C)rejoice in hope of the glory of God. ³ And not only that, but ^(D)we also glory in tribulations, ^(E)knowing that tribulation produces ^[a]perseverance; ^4 (F)and perseverance, ^[b]character; and character, hope.

Be Patient and Persevering

⁷ Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.

¹³ but rejoice ^(A)to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that ^(B)when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

^3 (A)knowing that the testing of your faith produces ^[a]patience. ⁴ But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be ^[b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

^6 (A)Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with ^(B)thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; ⁷ and ^(C)the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
