¹¹ I long to see you^(A) so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift^(B) to make you strong—

²⁵ Now to him who is able^(A) to establish you in accordance with my gospel,^(B) the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery^(C) hidden for long ages past,

Prophecy of Scripture

¹² So I will always remind you of these things,^(A) even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth^(B) you now have.

³ But the Lord is faithful,^(A) and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.^(B)

²⁹ I know that when I come to you,^(A) I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ.

⁶ When Paul placed his hands on them,^(A) the Holy Spirit came on them,^(B) and they spoke in tongues^[a](C) and prophesied.

¹⁵ When they arrived, they prayed for the new believers there that they might receive the Holy Spirit,^{(A) 16} because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them;^(B) they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.^{(C) 17} Then Peter and John placed their hands on them,^(D) and they received the Holy Spirit.^(E)

¹⁸ When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money ¹⁹ and said, “Give me also this ability so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”

¹⁷ Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard^(A) so that you may not be carried away by the error^(B) of the lawless^(C) and fall from your secure position.^{(D) 18} But grow in the grace^(E) and knowledge^(F) of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.^(G) To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.^(H)
