⁷ The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed ^(A)hail and ^(B)fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a ^(C)third of the earth was burned up, and a third of ^(D)the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.

⁸ The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch people ^(A)with fire. ⁹ They were scorched by the fierce heat, and ^(B)they cursed^[a] the name of God who had power over these plagues. ^(C)They did not repent ^(D)and give him glory.

¹⁸ And there were ^(A)flashes of lightning, rumblings,^[a] peals of thunder, and ^(B)a great earthquake ^(C)such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake. ^19 (D)The great city ^(E)was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God ^(F)remembered ^(G)Babylon the great, ^(H)to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath. ²⁰ And ^(I)every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found. ²¹ And ^(J)great hailstones, about one hundred pounds^[b] each, fell from heaven on people; and ^(K)they cursed God for ^(L)the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.
