³ I saw one of his heads as if it had been ^[a]fatally wounded, and his ^(A)fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth ^(B)was amazed and followed after the beast;

¹² He ^(A)exercises all the authority of the first beast ^[a](B)in his presence. And he makes ^(C)the earth and those who live on it ^(D)worship the first beast, whose ^(E)fatal wound was healed.

¹⁴ And he ^(A)deceives ^(B)those who live on the earth because of ^(C)the signs which it was given him to perform ^[a](D)in the presence of the beast, telling those who live on the earth to make an image to the beast who *had the ^(E)wound of the sword and has come to life.

⁸ “^(A)The beast that you saw ^(B)was, and is not, and is about to ^(C)come up out of the ^(D)abyss and ^[a](E)go to destruction. And ^(F)those who live on the earth, ^(G)whose names have not been written in the book of life ^(H)from the foundation of the world, will ^(I)wonder when they see the beast, that he was, and is not, and will ^[b]come.
