⁴ I saw thrones^(A) on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge.^(B) And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded^(C) because of their testimony about Jesus^(D) and because of the word of God.^(E) They^[a] had not worshiped the beast^(F) or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands.^(G) They came to life and reigned^(H) with Christ a thousand years.

²⁷ Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms^(A) under heaven will be handed over to the holy people^(B) of the Most High.^(C) His kingdom will be an everlasting^(D) kingdom, and all rulers will worship^(E) and obey him.’

¹⁸ But the holy people^(A) of the Most High will receive the kingdom^(B) and will possess it forever—yes, for ever and ever.’^(C)

² Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world?^(A) And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? ³ Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!

²⁸ Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne,^(A) you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.^(B)

⁹ When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under^(A) the altar^(B) the souls of those who had been slain^(C) because of the word of God^(D) and the testimony they had maintained.

²² until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the holy people of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom.^(A)

⁶ Blessed^(A) and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death^(B) has no power over them, but they will be priests^(C) of God and of Christ and will reign with him^(D) for a thousand years.
