²³ and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am the one who searches minds and hearts, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.^(A)

²⁷ And God,^[a] who searches hearts, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit^[b] intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.^(A)

²⁷ “For the Son of Man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay everyone for what has been done.^(A)

²⁴ Then they prayed and said, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which one of these two you have chosen^(A)

¹⁷ If you invoke as Father the one who judges impartially according to each person’s work, live in fear during the time of your exile.^(A)

⁵ But by your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.^{(A) 6} He will repay according to each one’s deeds:^{(B) 7} to those who by patiently doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life, ⁸ while for those who are self-seeking and who obey not the truth but injustice, there will be wrath and fury.^{(C) 9} There will be affliction and distress for everyone who does evil, both the Jew first and the Greek,^{(D) 10} but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, both the Jew first and the Greek. ¹¹ For God shows no partiality.^(E)

²⁴ But Jesus on his part would not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people ²⁵ and needed no one to testify about anyone, for he himself knew what was in everyone.^(A)
