17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air,(A) and out of the temple(B) came a loud voice(C) from the throne, saying, “It is done!”(D) 18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder(E) and a severe earthquake.(F) No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth,(G) so tremendous was the quake. 19 The great city(H) split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered(I) Babylon the Great(J) and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath.(K) 20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found.(L)

18 This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord. 19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake(A) in the land of Israel.(B) 20 The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble(C) at my presence. The mountains will be overturned,(D) the cliffs will crumble(E) and every wall will fall to the ground.(F)

18 Whoever flees(A) at the sound of terror
    will fall into a pit;(B)
whoever climbs out of the pit
    will be caught in a snare.(C)

The floodgates of the heavens(D) are opened,
    the foundations of the earth shake.(E)
19 The earth is broken up,(F)
    the earth is split asunder,(G)
    the earth is violently shaken.
20 The earth reels like a drunkard,(H)
    it sways like a hut(I) in the wind;
so heavy upon it is the guilt of its rebellion(J)
    that it falls(K)—never to rise again.(L)

21 In that day(M) the Lord will punish(N)
    the powers(O) in the heavens above
    and the kings(P) on the earth below.
