² And I saw ^(A)what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those ^(B)who had conquered the beast and its image and ^(C)the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass ^(D)with harps of God in their hands.

⁶ and before the throne there was ^(A)as it were a sea of glass, like crystal.

And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are ^(B)four living creatures, ^(C)full of eyes in front and behind:

¹¹ And ^(A)they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for ^(B)they loved not their lives ^(C)even unto death.

Rejoicing in Heaven

19 After this I heard ^(A)what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out,

³ Once more they cried out,

⁴ And ^(G)the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who was seated on the throne, saying, “Amen. Hallelujah!” ⁵ And from the throne came a voice saying,

The Marriage Supper of the Lamb

⁶ Then I heard what seemed to be ^(J)the voice of a great multitude, like ^(K)the roar of many waters and ^(L)like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,

⁸ And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders ^(A)fell down before the Lamb, ^(B)each holding a harp, and ^(C)golden bowls full of incense, ^(D)which are the prayers of the saints.

¹⁸ The wall was built of ^(A)jasper, while the city was pure gold, like ^(B)clear glass.

⁷ so that ^(A)the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes ^(B)though it is tested by ^(C)fire—may be found to result in ^(D)praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

^11 (A)“I baptize you with water ^(B)for repentance, but ^(C)he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you ^(D)with the Holy Spirit and ^(E)fire.

¹⁴ and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of^[a] the beast ^(A)it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast ^(B)that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. ¹⁵ And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not ^(C)worship the image of the beast ^(D)to be slain. ¹⁶ Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave,^{[b] (E)}to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, ¹⁷ so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, ^(F)the name of the beast or ^(G)the number of its name. ^18 (H)This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number ^(I)of a man, and his number is 666.^[c]

The Lamb and the 144,000

14 Then I looked, and behold, on ^(J)Mount Zion ^(K)stood the Lamb, and with him ^(L)144,000 who ^(M)had his name and his Father's name written ^(N)on their foreheads. ² And I heard a voice from heaven ^(O)like the roar of many waters and ^(P)like the sound of loud thunder. The voice I heard was like the sound of ^(Q)harpists playing on their harps, ³ and they were singing ^(R)a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and before the elders. ^(S)No one could learn that song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. ⁴ It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for ^(T)they are virgins. It is these ^(U)who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These have been redeemed from mankind as ^(V)firstfruits for God and the Lamb, ⁵ and ^(W)in their mouth no lie was found, for they are ^(X)blameless.
