⁴ And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write;^(A) but I heard a voice from heaven^(B) say, “Seal up what the seven thunders have said and do not write it down.”^(C)

⁹ He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed^(A) until the time of the end.^(B)

⁴ But you, Daniel, roll up and seal^(A) the words of the scroll until the time of the end.^(B) Many will go here and there^(C) to increase knowledge.”

²⁶ “The vision of the evenings and mornings that has been given you is true,^(A) but seal^(B) up the vision, for it concerns the distant future.”^(C)

¹⁰ Then he told me, “Do not seal up^(A) the words of the prophecy of this scroll,^(B) because the time is near.^(C)

¹¹ which said: “Write on a scroll what you see^(A) and send it to the seven churches:^(B) to Ephesus,^(C) Smyrna,^(D) Pergamum,^(E) Thyatira,^(F) Sardis,^(G) Philadelphia^(H) and Laodicea.”^(I)

The Lord’s Answer

² Then the Lord replied:

¹¹ For you this whole vision^(A) is nothing but words sealed^(B) in a scroll. And if you give the scroll to someone who can read, and say, “Read this, please,” they will answer, “I can’t; it is sealed.”
