²⁰ For ^(A)by works of the law no human being^[a] will be justified in his sight, since ^(B)through the law comes knowledge of sin.

² For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but ^(A)not before God.

⁴ Now ^(A)to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due.

⁶ just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:

⁸ For ^(A)by grace you have been saved ^(B)through faith. And this is ^(C)not your own doing; ^(D)it is the gift of God, ^9 (E)not a result of works, ^(F)so that no one may boast.

⁵ he saved us, ^(A)not because of works done by us in righteousness, but ^(B)according to his own mercy, by ^(C)the washing of regeneration and ^(D)renewal of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom he ^(E)poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that ^(F)being justified by his grace we might become ^(G)heirs ^(H)according to the hope of eternal life.

Future Glory

¹⁸ For I consider that the sufferings of this present time ^(A)are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
