18 "Të dua, o Zot, forca ime.
2 Zoti është kështjella ime, fortesa ime dhe çliruesi im, Perëndia im, shkëmbi im ku gjej strehë, mburoja ime, fuqia e shpëtimit tim, streha ime e i lartë.
3 Unë i kërkoj ndihmë Zotit, që është i denjë për t’u lëvduar, dhe kështu shpëtoj nga armiqtë e mi.
4 Dhembje vdekjeje më kishin pushtuar dhe përrenj njerëzish të kobshëm më kishin tmerruar.
5 Ankthet e Sheolit më kishin rrethuar dhe leqet e vdekjes më rrinin përpara.
6 Në ankthin tim kërkova Zotin dhe i klitha Perëndisë tim; ai e dëgjoi zërin tim nga tempulli i tij dhe zëri im arriti para tij, në veshët e tij.
7 Atëherë dheu u trondit dhe u drodh; edhe themelet e maleve luajtën dhe ranë, sepse ai ishte zemëruar shumë.
8 Një tym i dilte nga flegrat e tij dhe një zjarr shkatërrimtar dilte nga goja e tij; nga ai shpërthenin thëngjij.
9 Ai i uli qiejtë dhe zbriti me një mjegull të dendur poshtë këmbëve të tij;
10 i kishte hipur një kerubini dhe fluturonte; fluturonte shpejt mbi krahët e erës.
11 Me terrin ai kishte bërë velin e tij dhe si shatorre rreth vetes kishte vënë errësirën e ujërave dhe retë e dendura të qiellit.
12 Nga shkëlqimi që e paraprinte dilnin re të dendura, brësher dhe thëngjij.
13 Zoti gjëmoi në qiejtë dhe Shumë i Larti bëri që të dëgjohet zëri i tij me breshër dhe me thëngjij.
14 Hodhi shigjetat e tij dhe i shpërndau armiqtë; lëshoi një numër të madh rrufesh dhe i bëri të ikin me vrap.
15 Në qortimin tënd, o Zot, në shfryrjen e erës nga flegrat e tua, shtretërit e lumenjve u dukën dhe themelet e botës u zbuluan.
16 Ai nga lart shtriu dorën, më mori dhe më nxori jashtë ujërave të shumta.
17 Më çliroi nga armiku im i fuqishëm dhe nga ata që më urrenin, sepse ishin më të fortë se unë.
18 Ata u vërsulën kundër meje ditën e fatkeqësisë sime, por Zoti mbajti anën time,
19 dhe më nxori jashtë, larg; më çliroi sepse më do.
20 Zoti më ka shpërblyer sipas drejtësisë sime dhe më ka dhënë sipas pastërtisë së duarve të mia,
21 sepse kam ndjekur rrugët e Zotit dhe nuk jam larguar pabesisht nga Perëndia im,
22 sepse kam mbajtur para meje tërë ligjet e tij dhe nuk u jam shmangur statuteve të tij.
23 Kam qenë i ndershëm me të dhe i jam ruajtur paudhësisë.
24 Sepse Zoti më ka dhënë sipas drejtësisë sime, sipas pastërtisë së duarve të mia përpara syve të tij.
25 Ti tregohesh i dhimbshëm ndaj njeriut besimtar dhe i drejtë me njeriun e drejtë.
26 Ti tregohesh i pastër me atë që është i pastër dhe i dinak me të ligun,
27 sepse ti je ai që shpëton njerëzit e pikëlluar dhe ul sytë që janë krenarë;
28 ti je në fakt je ai që bën të shkëlqejë llambën time; o Zot, Perëndia im, ti ndriçon errësirën time,
29 sepse me ty mund të sulmoj një aradhe dhe me Perëndinë tim mund të kërcej mbi një mur.
30 Rruga e Perëndisë është e përsosur; fjala e Zotit është pastruar me anë të zjarrit; ai është mburoja e të gjithë atyre që gjejnë strehë tek ai.
31 Në fakt kush është Perëndi përveç Zotit? Kush është kështjellë përveç Perëndisë tim?
32 Perëndia është ai që më rrethon me forcë dhe që e bën jetën time të përsosur.
33 Ai i bën këmbët e mia të ngjashme me ato të sutave dhe më bën të fortë në vendet e mia të larta;
34 ai i mëson duart e mia për betejë, dhe me krahët e mi mund të nderë një hark prej bakri.
35 Ti më ke dhënë gjithashtu mburojën e shpëtimit tënd; dora jote e djathtë më ka mbajtur dhe mirësia jote më ka bërë të madh.
36 Ti ke zgjeruar hapat e mi nën veten time dhe këmbët e mia nuk janë penguar.
37 I kam ndjekur armiqtë e mi dhe i kam arritur, nuk jam kthyer prapa para se t’i shkatërroj.
38 I kam goditur vazhdimisht dhe ata nuk kanë mundur të ngrihen përsëri; ata kanë rënë nën këmbët e mia.
39 Ti më ke dhënë forcë për betejën dhe ke bërë të përulen ata që ngriheshin kundër meje;
40 ti ke bërë të kthejnë kurrizin armiqtë e mi, dhe unë kam shkatërruar ata që më urrenin.
41 Ata klithën, por nuk pati njeri që t’i shpëtonte; ata i klithën Zotit, por ai nuk u dha përgjigje.
42 I kam shkelur deri sa i bëra si pluhuri para erës; i kam fshirë si balta e rrugëve.
43 Ti më ke çliruar nga grindjet e popullit; ti më ke bërë udhëheqës të kombeve; një popull që nuk e njihja më ka shërbyer.
44 Me të dëgjuar emrin tim, ata më dëgjuan dhe m’u bindën; të huajt m’u nënshtruan.
45 Të huajt u ligështuan dhe dolën duke u dridhur nga fortesat e tyre.
46 Rroftë Zoti, qoftë e bekuar Kështjella ime dhe lëvduar qoftë Perëndia i shpëtimit tim!
47 Ai është Perëndia që hakmerret për mua dhe që më nënshtron popujt;
48 ai më çliron nga armiqtë e mi. Ti më larton mbi ata që ngrihen kundër meje dhe më çliron nga njeriu që përdor dhunën.
49 Prandaj, o Zot, unë do ta kremtoj midis kombeve emrin tënd me këngë.
50 Çlirime të mëdha ai i jep mbretit të tij dhe tregohet dashamirës me Davidin, të vajosurin e tij, dhe me fisin e tij përjetë".

For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord. He sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:
1 I love you, Lord, my strength.(B)
2 The Lord is my rock,(C) my fortress(D) and my deliverer;(E)
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,(F)
my shield[b](G) and the horn[c] of my salvation,(H) my stronghold.
3 I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,(I)
and I have been saved from my enemies.(J)
4 The cords of death(K) entangled me;
the torrents(L) of destruction overwhelmed me.
5 The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death(M) confronted me.
6 In my distress(N) I called to the Lord;(O)
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;(P)
my cry came(Q) before him, into his ears.
7 The earth trembled(R) and quaked,(S)
and the foundations of the mountains shook;(T)
they trembled because he was angry.(U)
8 Smoke rose from his nostrils;(V)
consuming fire(W) came from his mouth,
burning coals(X) blazed out of it.
9 He parted the heavens and came down;(Y)
dark clouds(Z) were under his feet.
10 He mounted the cherubim(AA) and flew;
he soared(AB) on the wings of the wind.(AC)
11 He made darkness his covering,(AD) his canopy(AE) around him—
the dark rain clouds of the sky.
12 Out of the brightness of his presence(AF) clouds advanced,
with hailstones(AG) and bolts of lightning.(AH)
13 The Lord thundered(AI) from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded.[d]
14 He shot his arrows(AJ) and scattered the enemy,
with great bolts of lightning(AK) he routed them.(AL)
15 The valleys of the sea were exposed
and the foundations(AM) of the earth laid bare
at your rebuke,(AN) Lord,
at the blast of breath from your nostrils.(AO)
16 He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.(AP)
17 He rescued me from my powerful enemy,(AQ)
from my foes, who were too strong for me.(AR)
18 They confronted me in the day of my disaster,(AS)
but the Lord was my support.(AT)
19 He brought me out into a spacious place;(AU)
he rescued me because he delighted in me.(AV)
20 The Lord has dealt with me according to my righteousness;(AW)
according to the cleanness of my hands(AX) he has rewarded me.(AY)
21 For I have kept the ways of the Lord;(AZ)
I am not guilty of turning(BA) from my God.
22 All his laws are before me;(BB)
I have not turned away from his decrees.
23 I have been blameless(BC) before him
and have kept myself from sin.
24 The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness,(BD)
according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
25 To the faithful(BE) you show yourself faithful,(BF)
to the blameless you show yourself blameless,
26 to the pure(BG) you show yourself pure,
but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.(BH)
27 You save the humble(BI)
but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.(BJ)
28 You, Lord, keep my lamp(BK) burning;
my God turns my darkness into light.(BL)
29 With your help(BM) I can advance against a troop[e];
with my God I can scale a wall.
30 As for God, his way is perfect:(BN)
The Lord’s word is flawless;(BO)
he shields(BP) all who take refuge(BQ) in him.
31 For who is God besides the Lord?(BR)
And who is the Rock(BS) except our God?
32 It is God who arms me with strength(BT)
and keeps my way secure.(BU)
33 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;(BV)
he causes me to stand on the heights.(BW)
34 He trains my hands for battle;(BX)
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 You make your saving help my shield,
and your right hand sustains(BY) me;
your help has made me great.
36 You provide a broad path(BZ) for my feet,
so that my ankles do not give way.(CA)
37 I pursued my enemies(CB) and overtook them;
I did not turn back till they were destroyed.
38 I crushed them(CC) so that they could not rise;(CD)
they fell beneath my feet.(CE)
39 You armed me with strength(CF) for battle;
you humbled my adversaries(CG) before me.
40 You made my enemies turn their backs(CH) in flight,
and I destroyed(CI) my foes.
41 They cried for help, but there was no one to save them(CJ)—
to the Lord, but he did not answer.(CK)
42 I beat them as fine as windblown dust;(CL)
I trampled them[f] like mud in the streets.
43 You have delivered me from the attacks of the people;
you have made me the head of nations.(CM)
People I did not know(CN) now serve me,
44 foreigners(CO) cower before me;
as soon as they hear of me, they obey me.
45 They all lose heart;(CP)
they come trembling(CQ) from their strongholds.(CR)
46 The Lord lives!(CS) Praise be to my Rock!(CT)
Exalted be God(CU) my Savior!(CV)
47 He is the God who avenges(CW) me,
who subdues nations(CX) under me,
48 who saves(CY) me from my enemies.(CZ)
You exalted me above my foes;
from a violent man(DA) you rescued me.
49 Therefore I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;(DB)
I will sing(DC) the praises of your name.(DD)
