Psalm 2:6-9

6 “I have set up My king
upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

7 I will declare the decree of Adonai.
He said to me: “You are My Son—
today I have become Your Father.[a]
8 Ask Me,
    and I will give the nations as Your inheritance,
and the far reaches of the earth as Your possession.
9 You shall break the nations with an iron scepter.[b]
You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s jar.”[c]
